**Description** Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Location: Omaha Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor Essential Job Functions: + Inspect and test machinery to ensure proper functioning + Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear replacing worn, damaged or defective mechanical parts as needed + Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, and hand tools, or power tools + Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair + Operate hoists or other moving or lifting equipment + Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or performing other preventive maintenance + Inspect mechanical components to identify problems + Trouble shoot electrical controls and components and repair as needed Experience Required: + High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred but not required + 2-3 years of industrial electrical experience in a food industry environment preferred but not required + 2-3 years of ammonia refrigeration operation in a food industry environment preferred but not required Skills/Abilities Required: + Basic computer skills + Must be able to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, work with a variety of hand and power tools and shop machines + Must be able to work in extreme temperatures + Knowledge of manufacturing/packaging equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, cylinders, labeling equipment and conveyors + Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and the ability to learn quickly + Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime and some weekends JBS is an equal opportunity employer.
