PEDIATRIC SCHOOL BASED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Compensation: 70,980 110,760 annually
Schedule: Option for 10-month or 12-month full-time schedule

Job Summary
A full-time Pediatric Occupational Therapist position is available to support students within a school-based setting in Elmira, NY. This role offers the opportunity to provide meaningful therapeutic services to children while collaborating closely with families, educators, and other professionals. Candidates may choose a 10-month schedule with summers off or a traditional 12-month schedule.
Responsibilities
Evaluate students' needs and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders
Conduct assessments for wheelchairs, splints, positioning equipment, and activities of daily living supports
Fabricate splints and assistive devices as needed
Complete written documentation including evaluations, treatment plans, and progress reports
Communicate with physicians and team members regarding student progress
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate student care
Provide education and guidance to students, families, and caregivers
Maintain equipment and supplies
Participate in the development of new therapy services and programs
Provide in-service education to school staff
Complete required continuing education
Participate in committees and departmental activities as needed
Deliver age-appropriate care to pediatric and adolescent populations
Maintain professional conduct and support a positive, supportive environment for students
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
Licensed or license-eligible Occupational Therapist in New York State
Experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred
BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
Ability to meet physical demands including standing, lifting, and assisting with student mobility
