Description Robert Half is seeking an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) to support a leading insurance organization based in Bellevue, WA. This role is responsible for backend automation supporting underwriting system integrations. The position is Remote, and is a ~2-month contract with potential for extension. Apply today! Job Details Schedule: EST coverage; daily stand-up at 9:30 AM PST Duration: Mid-January (2 months Contract) Location: Remote Job Responsibilities + Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests using Playwright (TypeScript). + Build and maintain API automation (REST, GraphQL) and Postman collections. + Troubleshoot automation pipeline failures, defects, and environment issues. + Participate in Agile ceremonies: standups, planning, reviews, retrospectives. + Perform manual/exploratory testing when needed to support delivery cycles. + Update and create YAML configuration files used in automation workflows. + Navigate AWS console to query logs, review data, and support issue analysis. + Collaborate closely with engineering within a fast-moving, self-managed Agile pod. + Support sprint demo preparation, backlog refinement, and cross-team integration needs. Requirements 5+ years of hands-on SDET experience (coding, not just execution). Strong experience with Playwright, ideally in TypeScript. Strong API testing experience (REST, GraphQL, Postman). Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (debugging failures, logs, test runs). Comfortable working in AWS, including navigating logs, querying services, and understanding basic cloud workflows. Strong Git/GitHub proficiency. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced Agile environment with minimal handholding. Experience with YAML file updates and configuration. Strong communication skills, team collaboration, and ability to work remotely with EST alignment.
