Your Responsibilities:

This is a hands-on role focused on client care, work product delivery, and team management. You will run day-to-day monthly accounting, payroll, and accounts payable operations and improve processes. Firm leadership retains responsibility for pricing and overall P&L. Clear director track as responsibilities expand.

This role is full-time, exempt. Core hours are Monday–Friday hours 8am–5pm in your local US time zone, with 2–3 late afternoon/evening overlap blocks per week with our offshore team (offshore overlap hours vary by your time zone). Monthly Accounting:

• • Review monthly accounting prepared by the offshore team.
  • Review reconciliations and journal entries; ensure on-time delivery of financials.
  • Resolve team, client, and accounting app issues.
  • Lead new client onboardings, diagnose and execute QBO cleanups (light to heavy) to set clients up for success.

Payroll:

• • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations and compliance for multi-state clients.
  • Manage payroll platforms (QBO Payroll, Gusto, ADP, etc.) and ensure accurate GL account mappings.
  • Ensure on-time filings, tax deposits, and year-end reporting.

Accounts Payable:

• • Build and manage a standardized A/P process using tools such as BILL and Ramp
  • Oversee vendor onboarding, invoice processing, and weekly payment runs
  • Maintain accurate A/P records, reconciliations, and W9/1099 tracking

Team Growth:

• • Train and supervise junior offshore team members, coaching for quality and speed.
  • Balance delegation with rolling up your sleeves when needed.

Client Communications:

• • Respond promptly via email/portal; schedule & run video/phone calls as needed.
  • Explain financials clearly and maintain strong relationships.

Experience:

• 7+ years of accounting experience in a public accounting firm or outsourced accounting environment, recent experience must be in a fully remote environment.
• 3+ years of experience leading an accounting team, preferably with an offshore component.
• Strong experience reviewing financials and other deliverables prepared by others (not just doing the work yourself).
• Strong experience with trust accounting - legal industry, real estate property management, or similar
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and remote-only workflows
