Job Description

Our client, a respected national law firm, is seeking an experienced eDiscovery Specialist to join their growing team. This role serves as a key player in the litigation lifecycle, executing hands-on work in Relativity, advising case teams on best practices, and managing workflows from data ingestion through production. It’s a great fit for someone who is comfortable juggling multiple matters, and brings both technical know-how and client-facing confidence. Ideal candidates will bring some experience in eDiscovery or litigation support, a strong command of Relativity, and the ability to work independently while staying engaged with a remote-first, socially connected team. While this is a remote position, candidates must be located in a state in which our client has an office.

Key Responsibilities
eDiscovery & Case Support
  • Administer and support Relativity workspaces, including:
    • Workspace creation using firm-approved templates
    • Data ingestion and processing
    • Importing and exporting productions
    • User and group permissions management
  • Execute and quality-check document productions, ensuring accuracy, defensibility, and adherence to specifications
  • Perform QC on incoming and outgoing deliverables from third-party vendors and internal teams; proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Maintain accurate chain of custody and ensure compliance with firm policies, privacy requirements, and data security standards
  • Assist with data cleanup, archiving, and matter close-out activities
Technical Expertise & Workflow Execution
  • Apply strong knowledge of Relativity functionality, including permissions, processing, searching, review, and production workflows
  • Support data management tasks such as deduplication, metadata validation, and structured QC processes
  • Assist with specialized workflows including phone collections, transcript handling, and data organization for review and trial preparation
  • Utilize litigation support tools such as PowerPDF for document manipulation, bookmarking, and splitting/combining files
  • Support secure data transfers via approved FTP platforms following established protocols
Advisory & Collaboration
  • Advise case teams on standard eDiscovery workflows, best practices, and available technology solutions
  • Partner with eDiscovery Manager and Coordinator to assess case needs and recommend efficient, cost-effective approaches
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for providing services such as forensic collections
  • Proactively communicate status updates, risks, and next steps to internal stakeholders
Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing
  • Contribute to internal documentation, training materials, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Participate in content creation efforts such as internal newsletters, educational resources, or process updates
  • Expand technical knowledge through exposure to advanced Relativity features, analytics, dashboards, and emerging tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview)
  • Embrace stretch assignments and evolving responsibilities as eDiscovery knowledge matures
Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
  • Accurately track and record billable time per matter in a timely manner
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while effectively prioritizing deadlines
  • Adhere to confidentiality, professionalism, and firm standards at all times
  • Participate in departmental initiatives and other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
  • Some hands-on experience in eDiscovery or litigation support within a law firm or eDiscovery vendor environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Relativity as a power user or administrator (RCA not required)
  • Solid understanding of the litigation and eDiscovery lifecycle
  • Experience with data processing, document review support, and production workflows
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel for data analysis and manipulation)
  • Familiarity with tools such as PowerPDF
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
  • Possesses a well-rounded understanding of the legal case lifecycle
  • Strong customer service skills and demonstrated ability to build professional relationships
  • Ability to work individually and within a team environment
  • This position will require, from time to time, off-hour (evenings and weekends) work assignments and/or local travel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting phone or mobile device collections
  • Exposure to Relativity dashboards or analytics features
  • Experience contributing to training, documentation, or internal education efforts
Expected salary for this non-exempt role is $110,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
