Senior Security Operations Manager (Contract-to-Hire)

Overview

Our client is building out a modern, enterprise-wide security practice and shared security services model. They are seeking a Senior Security Operations Manager who can provide strong leadership, technical depth, and strategic direction across identity, infrastructure, Windows, and network security domains.

You will have the opportunity to shape security strategy, implement tools and processes, and partner with cross-functional technology teams to elevate the organization’s security posture.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead for enterprise-wide information security initiatives

• Build and mature a shared security services model across identity, infrastructure, Windows, and network security

• Implement, operate, and optimize security tools and technologies

• Partner with engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure timely remediation of vulnerabilities and exposures

• Develop configuration, operational, and troubleshooting documentation

• Provide technical support and contribute to incident response efforts

• Advise leadership on security best practices, emerging threats, and risk mitigation strategies

• Influence team culture by teaching, mentoring, and sharing security expertise

• Take a pragmatic, value-focused approach to technical decisions

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication—able to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Ability to work with business owners to identify critical assets and evaluate risk

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with enterprise networks, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and network security

• Hands-on experience with identity management, authentication mechanisms, and access management controls

• Expertise in endpoint and OS hardening for Windows, Linux, and mobile platforms

• Strong background in vulnerability identification, assessment, and mitigation

• Ability to analyze security logs to detect malicious or anomalous activity

• Incident response experience (detecting, analyzing, containing, recovering)

• Experience configuring and managing SIEM platforms

• Solid understanding of cloud security policies and controls

• Ability to define, document, and implement security policies across a complex enterprise

• Certifications preferred: CISSP, SSCP (or equivalent)
